One of the main objectives of AIPN is to establish model contracts that are widely accepted and used in the international energy sector. These contracts are tools for the negotiator that serve as a starting point for negotiation and significantly reduce the time it takes to conclude a transaction. This book offers a pragmatic and detailed review of the clause-for-clause of the latest (2012) version of the AIPN JOA conventional oil. Each clause is analysed in detail by referring to: (1) a statement about what the clause says; (2) a summary of the intended meaning of the clause; and (3) comments on how the clause tends to be modified and could be improved in practice. The book also analyses the main annexes to the OFFICIAL AI JOA, including the accounting procedure and the repeal procedures. Members of the opening ai always have free access to download all types of ncY contracts, as well as guides, translations and training modules for these contracts, if available. Archived contracts are also available free of charge online. Members also have the advantage of joining one of the drafting committees of the fniadissa. On the right, a list of current standard contracts is listed. A list of available archived contracts can be found here. Due to differences in industry practices, standards, laws and practices, the appointing authority`s drafting committees are drawn from a broad group of practitioners and negotiators who collaborate to develop a balanced and comprehensive model contract, with options and alternatives to reflect differences in international industry practices. Standard contracts of an official aisle support the parties by allowing them to focus their efforts on important commercial and contractual terms rather than on provisions that are of a standard nature.

Editorial bodies develop new models and update older versions. The Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN) model was first published in 1990 and underwred a series of subsequent revisions. It is now the most widespread (though not always the most popular) joint venture agreement in international conventional oil and gas projects. in the oil sector. If ever the opening ai is tackling a 5th edition of the JOA, there will be an excellent reference of its meeting in different places to promote a wide participation. Conference calls and online resources are also used to collect contributions from members who cannot participate personally. The editorial boards are open to all members of the opening authority. Non-members may apply to be members of a committee. Non-members, click here to apply for committee membership. Point for the Board of Revisors. In the meantime, it should be on the desk (not on the shelf) of any serious upstream negotiator who engages in an JOA negotiation – even if the parties don`t leave the AIPN JOA model… .
